Community Consultation
This week, we sent out an open invitation to the community to drop in and see us for a chat about the activity within the Community Action Plan. The Plan has undergone updates especially since the Pandemic which, as we know, affected developments, target dates for projects etc which had to be moved back.
The team met with a good cross section of the community all keen to hear where we go from here and with progress with the asset transfer of the former Langholm Primary School, many offered suggestions for the space and showed good support for the project.
Sharon also chatted about the work undertaken recently by SCOTO (Scottish Community Tourism) with their pilot “press pause” workshop in Langholm, where tourism isn’t just about striving for increased footfall but more about working with community groups to offer “experiences” for visitors to help them engage with the community and stay longer in the area.
