It’s Getting Hot Down Here
The success of Langholm Chilli Club surprised even its founders when it took the town by storm four short years ago.
With a worldwide membership of more than 700 and upwards of 200 varieties (equating to thousands of plants) cropping up around our community and beyond, the desire to make Langholm the undisputed Chilli Capital of Scotland was a natural next step.
Following national media attention and spurred on by the passion of its membership, the Chilli Club is now gearing up for Langholm ChilliFest 2021, the inaugural celebration of all things fiery and fruity around the town. On Saturday 23 October, locals and visitors alike can delight in demonstrations from celebrity chefs including Tony Singh and homegrown treasure Jilly McCord, as well as Britain’s biggest display of chilli plants and around 40 stalls selling hot and spicy produce.
There will of course be a chilli-eating contest for those brave enough to face the world’s ten hottest varieties, and you can expect several more surprises – including Langholm’s very own chilli-based beer.
Get ready to get your sweat on!
