Langholm Finally on the MAP
After 18 months lobbying transport authorities, MSP’s, MP’s and local councillors about lack of awareness of Langholm on the historic tourist route from Carlisle north to the Border, the Muckle Toon is now firmly on the map!
After much research and dialogue with relevant highways authorities over the Border, Sharon set about lobbying MP’s and the relevant highways authorities. It was only when the Langholm Alliance were fortunate to engage the services of Consultant Anthony Lane, who is a retired civil engineer, that the campaign stepped up a gear. With Anthony’s background working with the now Cumberland Council and expertise in roads and infrastructure, he created a consultation document providing justification for much improved signage for Langholm. This document fuelled the campaign with Sharon and Anthony invited to meetings with Cumberland Council who funded the project.
